Track Review
As the riding season begins, I thought this would be a great
time to give a review on some of my favorite tracks in the area. Now, I’m no
pro by any means, but I have been riding for quite some time and have been to
quite a few tracks in my day, so I think I will start off with one of my old
favorite tracks, Sandbox.
Sandbox is located in the rural are of Tuscola County,
Michigan, not too far from Vassar and just due east of Saginaw. Because of
local noise ordinances, most of these tracks have to be in rural areas where
neighboring people do not have to listen to all of the noises that the bikes
make, and on a good day, that can get very loud.
I have been going to Sandbox MX since I was on my Honda XR
100, which was a long time ago. To give you a better idea, I have had 6 bikes
and my XR 100 was my second bike ever. To say the least, I’ve been going there
for close to ten years now. It one of the closer tracks to go to in the area
and definitely a fun track to go to.
My suggestion to anyone that wants to try a MX track for the
first time that they go to Sandbox MX.
Sandbox is pretty much what the name is, sand. It is a great beginner
track yet challenging enough for more experienced people to go to.
Sandbox has two tracks within the facility, the main track
and the kid track. The kid track is for anyone on a 100cc motor or less (typically)
and the main track is for anyone on an 85cc motor or bigger. You would be
pretty surprised how many younger kids are out on the main track ripping it on
a little 85 motor.
My personal opinion of the track is amazing! Granted, I have
been going there for a long time so I typically try to go to other tracks more
now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t stop by every season to get my Sandbox fix
in. Unfortunately, the practice schedule for the 2018 season has not opened
yet, but hopefully they will get that soon and get out on that track ASAP!.
I unfortuntley do not have any video's of myself at Sandbox MX but check out the link below to a youtube video of the track!

BRAAAAAP

I always wanted to ride because it looks so fun, but I never have. However, I live by the M1 Concourse race track for cars in Pontiac, and I do hear the noise. It doesn't bother me though.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has never got the chance to ride a motorcycle before, do you have any recommendations for just learning how to ride? Are there any tracks that you can rent one for the day?
